Have you ever seen how gymnasts tumble and do cool things? It definitely takes a lot of dedication and hard work. Gymnasts show professionalism through their sport. Especially Gabby Douglas, a hard working gymnast who traveled across country just to do her best. She was separated from her family for almost two years just to train, she showed professionalism. With her determination she won all- around gymnast and group gymnastics in the Olympics. Gabrielle Douglas was born December 31, 1995. At the age of three she mastered her first cartwheel. Her older sister Arielle, a former gymnast taught her how to do a cart wheel, she mastered that and taught herself a one handed cartwheel(source 1)She automatically fell in love with the sport. She received an invitation to train with Liang Chow, a world renowned gymnast (Source 2). She needed to train with him to be able to take her gymnastics to the next level. Because she was the youngest in her family, her family was wary of letting her go ( source 1). Training with Liang Chow would mean going across country to Des Moine, Iowa. It took a lot of convincing but she did it ( source 2). She showed professionalism, through moving across country, she was also determined. She left home at fourteen, and stayed and trained for two years in Iowa. At one point she tore a muscle (source1).She was told it might be a while before she could do gymnastics again. she showed professionalism by pushing through her injury and continuing on.The Olympic trials were coming and she needed to regain her strength (source 1).
