Before my Junior Year, I decided to get a gym membership, at Gold’s Gym. The gym was very large, with lots of red, yellow, and black colors, all over the place. My classes were less core, but I had a few core classes that were challenging, such as my math class, and my chemistry class. When the time came to join Talent Company again, I was so ecstatic. The idea of getting to sing and act freed me from stresses of school.
The school year progressed, including the work load. Besides Talent Company, I gained the honor to join a Pop/Rock band, along with my high school production, of Street Scene. The struggles taught me to gain better time management skills. For instance, how to space out the events in my life, whether it was an activity in or outside of school. I also started to understand that everyone makes mistakes, and that it is ok to make mistakes. It taught me that no one will look down on you for one mistake; it’s a part of life. My self-reflection has given me the realization, that I am getting older, and I am becoming an adult. An adult that will join the world and make mistakes. A dilemma that I faced, and still am facing is simply the decision about what I want to do with my life after my high school career. In my freshman year of high school my goal was simply to get through the year in one piece. I was forced to conform to my new environment and all the strict rules that came along with it. Along with that it was the sudden transition from being the "big dogs" as eighth graders at my middle school to being "fresh-meat" in my first year high school. With so much attention placed on me as a freshman like on the varsity basketball team, where I was constantly forced to prove my worth to the coach and the players, to stepping out of my comfort zone and performing in a mandatory play for the rest of the the school as…

One specific example of this took place during my freshman year of high school. When I started high school it was very challenging for me, partially due to the fact that; during this time, I was lazy, unmotivated and did not really take school seriously. This by far is one of my biggest regrets to this day. Who would ever think that not trying during my freshman year would continue to follow me throughout the course of my academic career.…

My mother was my biggest role model and my best friend since I had father issues earlier on in my life. She was the person that I went to for everything. When she left, it was such an emotional strain on my family and me. It was a month into my sophomore year at Apopka High School, so I was fairly new to being in high school.…

Background Story I grew up in a city roughly halfway between Seattle and Tacoma where much of the population is toward the low socioeconomic standing. Spending grades K-12 in the public school district that was not the worst, but certainly not the best. Learning has always come naturally, so I was never pressured to give my education much (if any) thought until the summer before starting my sophomore year of high school. The next few years were the most agonizing and the influential of my life. A turbulent divorce left my mom working two jobs and forced an involuntary maturation process.…
