Aiming to make a career in politics and journalism, I admire George Washington University's Student Association modeling after the United State's legislative, executive, and judicial branches. GW also offers various club organizations, many involved in the political arena.

The location of GW being exceptionally close to downtown Washington D.C. introduces infinite possibilities for myself and my interests in being a public servant whether in journalism or politics.

Excited to attend a school in our nation's capital or work with Politico's senior policy reporter, Darren Samuelson. Being my mother's high school peer and Cooper City's high school column writer, Samuelson is an inspiration to the start of our school newspaper and my career in journalism.

This Town In the satirical exposé, This Town, Mark Leibovich revealed the questionable and fraudulent personas of those who work for the United States government. Throughout this hysterical work of nonfiction, Leibovich provided an exceptionally humanistic and in-depth tour of what he chose to call “The Town”, otherwise known as Washington D.C. I am pleased to recommend Shaun-Dae Clark for the Millennial Public Policy Fellowship with New America. I had the pleasure of teaching Shaun-Dae in her Scopes & Methods of Political Science Research class last fall, and I was impressed with her engagement with the course material, skill in articulating difficult concepts and literatures, and ability to grow and learn from the challenges she is presented with. In class, Shaun-Dae stood out early in the course as a perceptive and inquisitive participant in class discussion. She regularly raised thought-provoking questions that pushed the dialogue to a more reflective level, and her written work, both a literature review and an original statistical analysis, confirmed that she was a student with…

As I got older and learned about the causes of the financial crisis, I began to question how and why only few experts were able to predict the crisis, causing my initial curiosity and determination to further pursue these subjects. What fascinates me most about economics is its ability to be applied to the real world. The knowledge I obtain in my economics class allows me to actively engage in current affairs.…

I have a long educational history experience with US government classes. It all started in high school where it was a requirement to graduate, I took one US government class in high school, and now I have to take it again. As much as I enjoy US government classes or related studies areas, this time it is a requirement for me to take and pass this US government class again; however, my two mean reasons for taking the class this semester is not only because it is a required course for me, but, it is because I enjoy learning about politics and government. With that being said, regardless it was required or not I was planning on taking it anyway. I am a political science major; as a result, I have to take at least three courses of POS such as…
