SUMMARY: In October of 2017 Agents from the Merced Area Gang and Narcotic Enforcement Team (M.A.G.N.E.T) began an investigation into several Westside Norteno Gang members who operate in the Dos Palos and Los Banos area. While talking to a confidential informant (CI) it was determined that Pete GAONA is an active Norteno gang member operating a tattoo shop in Los Banos. As part of my investigation in this case I looked at GAONA’s Facebook account and saw that he had posted several photographs of what I believed to be firearms. On September 29, 2015, Sean Mathew Garcia from Montebello, California was arrested for the shooting and death of Brian Lee Gomez. Prior to the incident, both individuals had agreed to meet up at the 1600 block of Neil Armstrong Street, so that Garcia could purchase a 2,000 dollar gold necklace from Gomez. As Gomez made his was to get the necklace from his vehicle, Garcia retrieved an assault rifle from a bush, and began to shot Gomez multiple times. Garcia was caught fleeing from the scene by a surveillance camera minutes after. When investigators went to Garcia’s home to investigate, they found several pieces of evidence that linked him to the crime.…

Sacramento County Analysis Sacramento County Alcohol and Drug Treatment Initiative faced many challenges during the implementation process. Bob Caulk and Toni Moore struggled with their staff at Department of Health and Human Services being unwilling to implement and apply the skills from AODTI, for fear of the increased workload and resistance to change. DHHS middle-managers chose not to attend the AODTI training sessions, were not invested in the project, and did not take step to implement the program into their department. Moore became aware that the DHHS staff was not knowledgeable about the AODTI. AODTI team held seminar geared toward middle and top-level management.…

The case of Jesica Santillon is a very critical case, whereas miscommunication played a major role in her life. It wasn’t a good idea for the parents to smuggle Jessica into the United States illegally in the first place. The smuggle backfired on the parents, resulting in Jessica becoming ill and needed emergency help without being a citizen of the United States. However, the communication was very little considering they didn’t speak English as well as they should speak another language.
