I understand that I have lived through the theorist perspective of a salad bow and not a melting pot as I have always lived where there is large concentration of specifics groups. For example when I was living in upper Manhattan I was mostly around Dominicans and other Latinos and when I lived in Stroudsburg I was mostly around Caucasians. And then at Guttman most of my peers were predominantly Black. To put in another way my position is that although, I have been relatively surrounded by specific groups, overall I think these transitions have helped me become well rounded and understand the importance of diversity.
I think my personal experiences in school might affect how I will teach or interact with children because I think if the aspect of diversity would have been taught to me at a much younger age I would have been equipped to conduct myself in an appropriate manner through my different life transitions. I think as an aspiring teacher, I would like to make a large emphasizes on
