Guppy What's Wrong

It was a dark and rainy school night, however the school day had gone well. As I walk into Guppy’s house, I noticed that Guppy (My grandma) looked low-spirited, down in the dumps, sick at the heart, stop me when you hear a good one. So I do as any kind person would do, I ask, “Guppy, what’s wrong?”
“Well Alli, I don't know how to tell you this but… but, Spud (my cat) got put down he… he had something wrong with his leg, and he was old and we wanted to put him out of his misery.” And of course I tried to hold back my tears as I croaked out,
“I’m going outside.” So I ran outside as fast as my little legs could go while sobbing. I walk to the apple tree way far back and I pick the apple and sang songs as an attempt to take my mind off Spud. It worked for a while or so, but eventually dinner time came. We said our prayers for Spud and our thankfulness for everything.
