He was able to work with the Yuan Dynasty and come up with ideas that interested everyone involved. There is believed to be 27 different buildings that the Yuan Dynasty built. Guo designed a lot out of those 27 buildings. However, he did not only put his ideas to designing buildings. He also designed landmarks. One extraordinary landmark design he made was for Kummin Lake. Later on, Kummin Lake became the site of the Summer Palace on the west side of Beijing. Besides all of these great accomplishments, there was one in particular that would have a humongous part in a series of things created, that would be a part of all mankind. This one creation was a observatory, made for Guo Shoujing and his partner, Wang Xun. The Yuan government decided to make this building to make it easier and to help Shoujing and Xun design and develop a new calendar. The observatory came to be called the Observatory of Dadu (today’s Beijing). They began building in March of that year. The work of building the observatory was completed in two months, while following the design that Guo Shoujing developed. When the construction was done, the person appointed director was named Zhang Wenqian. Shoujing and Wang Xun were appointed the two co-directors of the observatory. Together, they worked in union to make sure this process was going in the right path. This whole project was going to help everyone, everywhere, all that was needed was time, to get the long and energy consuming job
