Many people agree, any kind of weapon could be extremely dangerous in the wrong hands, and allowing college students to carry a weapon increases the chance of having a weapon in the wrong hands on campus. Some might say that colleges are not crime free and the need to carry a gun is necessary for protection, but many critics would care to oppose. The truth is, more guns on campuses could actually create a higher risk of gun violence for students than if there were no guns allowed. “The fact that our nation’s colleges and universities are some of the safest places in our country in large part in large part because their, campuses, in almost all cases, have remained gun free” (Students for Gun Free Schools 633).
