Gun Violence Speech

In the Presidential speech about the recent shooting in Oregon, President Obama addressed the nation with concerns of how frequently gun violence occurs in America. He started by sharing how often he has had to make a speech concerning this such issues. According to the president, our thoughts and prayers are not soficient each time there is a mass shooting. According to the president, the system is failing. Nothing is being done to prevent gun incident violence from happening any place else in America: "And it does nothing to prevent this carnage from being inflicted someplace else in America-next week, or a couple of months from now". whatsoever that is being done or is not helping. The reporting is routine. My response here at this podium ends up being routine. The conversation in the aftermath of it. We have become numb to this ". This is very embarrassing and shameful. Basically what the above quote is suggesting is that we are becoming used to this to the point, and it is safe to say we don’t care. It’s becoming part of our daily life. This has been happening so much that we do not know how to react to it anymore. Technically what the president is saying is that we as a nation are heartless and selfish. We only care about ourselves. Because we do not longer feel the pain and even care about how this gun violence affects the victims. The president also mentions some examples of past shooting such as Columbine, and Blacksburg, Tucson just to name a few. I personally cannot imagine the pain that the victims and families of earlier shootings have been through. It must be really traumatizing for them to be constantly reminded of their pain each time something like this happens in this country. Its becoming really easy for people to get their hands on guns these days. If you think about it, it really shouldn't be this easy for people to buy and sells guns. There is no doubt that they are some responsible gun men and women out there who use their guns wisely. In order to prevent or at least reduce the rate of gun violence, we are the people are responsible to vote someone that will make our country safer by increasing gun
