There have been many conspiracies on whether gun violence should be treated as a public health issue or not. With gun violence on the rise, it is only necessary to take an alternative route when dealing with guns. Gun violence should be treated as a public health issue, especially in today’s society since more and more people have their own gun(s). The number of gun violence related crimes can be prevented and or diminished just like any other public health issue.
Most of these gun violence issues are gang related, however, gangs are not just in the major cities anymore. Larger cities and suburban counties remain the primary location for gangs. One way is having a public health campaign that primarily focuses on gun security at home. This is essential when at home because that is when most people are alone and try different things with their guns without safety. Another way is to have mandatory firearm safety training that an individual has to go through before receiving a firearm. This will educate the person purchasing the gun, and will prevent problems with how to operate the
