This research study was cast in the framework of the PRECEDE-PROCEED model due to the social, epidemiological, educational and ecological assessments. These assessments are also known as phases in PRECEDE. This model will help provide correct information to the residents of Jersey City so that they can understand the different reasons why living in an urban setting could cause higher stress levels among the youth. Also, this study will focus on the PRECEDE part for the reason that it can determine the quality of life, behaviors, predisposing, reinforcing, and enabling constructs which will correspond with the literature and focus group. Lately, this model will illustrate why gun violence can cause stress and mental health problems among Jersey
