The following section presents a review and analysis of the literature on the topic of gun violence, which will go further into detail based on the three fundamental categories. The three fundamental categories are community violence exposure, factors related to exposure and trauma, and youth attitudes toward gun violence. The first section is an overview of the research on community violence exposure and how it can contribute to violent behavior among urban youth. The second section describes different factors that are related to gun violence exposure and trauma within the youth population. Lastly, the third section expresses the youth feelings and attitudes toward gun violence.
