Gun Violence Effects

More than 12,000 people die of homicides due to gun violence each year. Gun violence is a form of violence that has the use of a gun. Some forms of gun violence are suicide, intentional homicide, or even domestic abuse. One of the amendments states that you have the right to carry a gun. When a person kills someone they should lose the right to carry a gun. Gun violence can have many effects, especially towards children. Children who are exposed to gun violence later get negative psychological effects like trauma. Some people who die are children or teens under the age of 20. One way I can make responsible decisions is to not use a gun against others. I wouldn't want to do the same thing that has caused me so much pain. In the book Absolutely True Diary Of A Part Time Indian Junior promises his mom he would never drink alcohol. Alcohol has affected Junior’s life, family, and community. He decides not to create more pain for himself. Preventing other losses due to gun violence can be stopped if people stopped using guns to harm others. It is important for me to prevent the usage of guns because it helps protect the lives that shouldn’t be taken. Another way I could make a responsible decision is by being careful. An example I could do to be careful is by not following the path of my great uncle or cousin took. I wouldn't sleep in my car if I was waiting for my job. I would go home take a nap so then I could go to work. If I was trying to defend my friend I would stay indoors if the guy looks suspicious. I might not know if he would be armed. Being careful is important to me because actions have different outcomes, some good and some bad. Another way I could heal from gun violence is by trying to help people who have threatened to hurt somebody with a gun. One example I could help someone is by taking them to a group that helps them with their problems. Taking them to a group will help the community because it will prevent a potential killer in the future. It is important to me so I can prevent somebody from getting seriously hurt or killed. Another example that I can do to help others is by warning them and telling them my experience with gun violence. I would tell them that taking a life is not okay since it ruins peoples lives. My experience with the deaths of gun violence might help the person see that violence brings too much pain. It is important to
