The cases of gun violence still occur and become painful social problems today. Throughout the article, Gopnik wants the reader to see that gun violence is a major subject needs more attention. He believed that the gun control laws should be lifted and on top of that made stricter, even ban using of guns is the best measure to stop gun violence in the world.
