Gun violence is when someone uses a gun on another person. Not all gun violence is considered criminal. Criminal violence includes homicide (unless its justifiable), assault with a deadly weapon, and suicide, or attempted suicide depending on the state. Non-criminal gun violence includes accidental or unintentional injury and death (except in cases of criminal negligence). In court sometimes, the gun user can be ruled accidental shootings.
