Sitting in my homeroom anxiously waiting for the morning announcements to come on, so I can hear who won the Student Government Association campaign. As usual the principal comes on saying the daily broadcast news, but today was unusually apathetic. It sounded as if he had a croak in his throat that wouldn’t let him speak vociferously about the upcoming news. Eventually, our principal was able to gather his words to say, “Today, we have lost one of our fellow students due to gun violence. This needs to be put to an end, every other week I cut on the television and I see another one of our youth dead.
