Comedy Central started a number of different shows including The Daily Show which has now gone through 2 hosts and is on its 3rd with Trevor Noah. Time Warner may own Comedy Central but it actually Viacom who own Time Warner and along with Comedy Central they also own MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon and many others. The media of course controls what we see, but Viacom seems a bit different. With the variety of Networks that they own it seems as if it is more aimed towards teenagers and young adults in their shows. However, The Daily Show is different because it goes against the mass opinions that rule the world, which makes it dangerous and if not for the comedic affect I am pretty confident that it would have been taken off of the …show more content…
It will give an opinion of the school police and then counter with the opinion of city police and vice versa. I think this is interesting because I believe that I know what they are doing here. Comedy Central, specifically The Daily Show is targeted to younger audiences who for the most part hold democratic views, while The Boston Globe’s target audience has been identified as “the audience of the paper itself” which isn’t necessarily a specific demographic meaning that they cater to everyone old enough to be interested in current events. Comedy Central can go to town with their views because they know their ratings will keep steady and they can get good points to their targeted audience, but The Boston Globe must remain neutral or else their audience will fluctuate in
