Following recent events (involving multiple mass shootings and attacks) many people think that the laws on guns in the United States of America need to be much tighter. I am one of these people. At the moment, as soon as you cross the US border, you have the legal right to purchase yourself a fire arm for personal protection, sport and (apparently, in some unfortunate cases) carrying out an unreasoned mass shooting. This document serves to explain some of the holes in the American legal system. While my foremost problem is not with guns themselves, it is a fact that they are, in the first place, an inherent danger and owning them, in the first instance, causes more trouble than they’re worth.…

Why? In this nation, where nearly half of all US households own at least one gun, nearly 30,000 people die from a gunshot each year. “A Dec. 10, 2014 Pew Research Center survey found 52% of Americans believe the right to own guns should be protected while 46% believe gun ownership should be controlled, a switch from 1993 when 34% wanted gun rights protected and 57% wanted gun ownership controlled. According to a Feb. 20, 2018 Quinnipiac Poll taken shortly after the Feb. 14 mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, 66% of American voters support stricter gun control laws (Background of the Issue - Gun Control” ). right to bear arms, which can be rephrased as “well regulated Militia”, this is interpreted as natural rights to own a weapon, but there should be stricter regulations if someone is to own a weapon today. (Chemerinsky, 2006) The reason for that being is because of past tragedies, and crimes involving weapons, in some of these cases you will question why people that did these heinous things even were able to own and purchase a weapon. If stricter laws are implemented on the right to bear arms it will make the United States of America a better society today. Creating stricter laws needs reasoning and can be proved today why it should be harder to obtain a firearm in the Untied States.…
