Man Sentenced to 55 years for killing Two Victims during Gun Point Robberies

Information was released today by Acting Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez that a 34 year old man form Crown Heights has been sentenced to 55 years to life for shooting his gun during two armed robberies in the neighbourhood that he lives in. One casualty was shot when he was fleeing after giving him money and the woman was wounded because she did not have any money.

The Acting District Attorney said " The defendant was insensitive, showed no regard for human life by shooting and terrorising innocent people for sake of robbing them. After today's sentence it is clear that a cruel and threatening human being will spend a long time in jail and not be a threat to innocent people.

The Acting District Attorney named the accused as Jovan frederick 34 of Crown Heights, Brooklyn who has been sentenced to 55 years to life in jail by Brooklyn Supreme Justice Haymond Guzman on August 19 2016 for first degree robbery, second degree attempted murder, first degree assault, first

The man dropped $200 on the street and fled. While he was fleeing the accused shot at him but fortunately missed.

At the same time and address a young 19 year old woman was clearing her mail box when the accused approached and demanded money. She repeatedly told that she did not have any after which he shot her several times in the stomach. The young woman spent 4 months in hospital, had to undergo numerous medical procedures and now continues to live with tracheotomy.

Police officers that were visited the accused home on February 15 2015 found a 9-mm semi-automatic firearm which had the defendants DNA and the evidence also revealed that it was the same gun that was used in the two robberies that have been described
