Throughout the past few years, I have realized how much crime is taking place in our world. Violent crime has been climbing steadily, and the future will only bring further increases in crime. Gun crime is more prevalent in the U.S. than any other country. On October 1, a terrible event took place, the Las Vegas shooting. The bloody massacre left over fifty people dead, wounded hundreds, and lasted many excruciating minutes. How could someone rain bullets on a country music festival and hurt hundreds of innocent people? This horrific incident has really opened my eyes about why I want to attend a university for several years. Since eighth grade, I have always been interested in criminal justice. This field really catches my attention,
