Gun control or people control?
Society should be against a gun ban because people should be able to protect themselves. Why should honest, law-abiding citizens lose their rights and freedoms because there are people who violate laws? The failure to obey laws is here to stay. What we have to do is deal with those people on a separate basis, not take away the things they disobey the law with. A gun ban will only keep the 'good guys' from obtaining firearms. Bad guys will always have ways of getting weapons. New gun laws will not do much in stopping them.
A gun is an inanimate object. It is a tool, just like a baseball bat, a knife, screwdriver, or hammer. Any of these are as dangerous as a gun;

It does nothing to stop people from doing what they set out to do. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.
The Second Amendment – Right to bear arms; states, “a well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." It protects an individual's right to possess and carry firearms, unconnected to service in a militia and to use that arm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home. I understand that when this was written, firearms were a lot different than what they are now. But that doesn’t make it any less our right! As time goes on, yes, things will change and evolve as will some of our laws. But that doesn’t mean that our rights to protect our houses and our families will change.
In conclusion, some people believe that the banning of guns would mean no one would have them. Not a chance! One example that clearly comes to mind is the Prohibition Act of 1920; we see how well that worked. It most certainly did not stop people from drinking. It only made people that would sell it illegally, richer. Also, what about illegal drugs? Just because it is illegal does not mean that people are not doing it. People are able to get their hands on many illegal drugs. So banning guns would not mean that people would not have them. I feel if some people would take the time to get educated about the facts, there would be a better understanding of
