“No Answer” has a general layout, more essay oriented. There is a header with a general title and then the essay underneath that title would be all written about that title. “Gun Control” had a unique layout about it that would catch the attention of both sides of the debate. This article was split up into a graph. The left side has all the benefits of gun control. This list is number one through fifteen. On the right side of the graph are the downfalls to having gun control. The list on the right side is also numbered one through fifteen. Under each of the listed statements on both sides of the graph is a short explanation for why these statements are being said. “Refuting” has a layout that is commonly shown in articles that are trying to prove that the other side is wrong. This article is numbered one through twenty one. Each number is titled with a statement that a anti-gun control advocate would say. All three of the writers’ stances are different as far as opinion. The writer of “No Answer” is clearly against gun control and believes that gun control is no answer to crime. That is presented to us in the title “Gun Control Is No Answer to Crime”. As you continue to read the article, the authors makes it known that they are not for gun control by starting off saying “Stop Gun Control!”. Also the authors stated that all the criminals will continue to find weapons so outlawing them will do nothing. “ Refuting” writers are on for gun control and that is shown to us through their harsh and straight forward tone that is expressed throughout the whole paper. In one section the writer writes “Those who make this argument are misinformed as to the original intent of the second amendment” (Sager). The tone here seems a little aggravated and angered.
