Do you know when was America 's worst school shooting? Well I do, and it had only happened four years ago, and shootings here have gotten much worse today. That’s why I propose a improved gun control system in our nation. With the school shooting of Sandy Hook Elementary School back in December 14th, 2012, the U.S. hasn’t actually enforced restrictions on gun control. This outrageous, intolerant behavior of the government, has lead me to believe we should establish an improved gun control system that strictly allow who should own a firearm. Although it may take a while for the government to take action, we still need to unite and create a better gun control system for the sake of our country. …show more content…
First off, we need to establish a universal background check system, in which all people would be purchasing a firearm (Daniel W. Webster & Jon S. Vernick). In addition to firearm owners reporting their lost weapon within 72 hours (Daniel W. Webster & Jon S. Vernick). The next factor would involve if the person is mentally healthy, and has no psychotic, murderous intentional thoughts. In which this can be solved by whether if the person has been involved in any violent crimes, alcoholic incidents including drugs, misdemeanor stalking, and of legal age of 21 (Daniel W. In summary the gun control system needs to have stricter rules like these to lessen disasters not just like Sandy Hook, but also any other shootings that have …show more content…
Along with fewer disasters, a safer country as a whole. Fewer disasters would result in our country being more safe about where they are, and can put a good reputation on us as well. Now people won’t see us as a place where America has all sorts of crazy violence happening every now and then. Now the downsides towards this proposal, would be the government actually passing this as a law, amendment, etc. In addition to how long would it take for this to pass as a law if we did manage to convince the people that we need to be aware of what is going on right now in America. The estimated time for everything to work out would be around 3-5 years. Although it may seem like a longshot, our country still has to think of a solution that would relate to making the gun control system more
