Gun control is one of the greatest issues facing the American people today. Pro gun control lobbyists are influencing citizen’s minds by putting the notion into people's head that fewer guns increase safety. Where is the social logic in this? What about the statistical logic? A well known and credible source, the NRA-ILA has data that shuts down gun control activists, saying, “Since 1991, when violent crime hit an all-time high, the nation’s violent crime rate and its murder rate have decreased by more than half, as Americans have acquired over 170 million new guns, roughly doubling the number of privately owned guns in the United States”(NRA-ILA).
