By US standards almost anyone can get there hands on a gun fairly easily. This presents a massive problem because there are many people in the US who should not be able to get their hands on a gun, such as criminals or the mentally ill. The only way to make sure that a gun doesn’t end up in the wrong hands is through more restrictive gun laws. By passing more restrictive gun laws requiring each state in the US to take an extensive background check on anyone who plans to own a gun and to limit the number of firearms an individual or household can own we can make sure that guns are only used by people who can use them appropriately. These laws would also decrease the extensive amount of guns present in the US, which shows a present danger because the more guns there are the harder it becomes to regulate and monitor them. Some people may argue that limiting and regulating firearms will not reduce firearm-related violence however evidence clearly shows that states with stricter gun laws have far less gun-related incidents than states with permissive gun
