Gun Control Laws

Should all guns be banned from public use and/or purchase? This is a question that has been argued back and forth for years, and both sides bring excellent points to the matter. While guns are dangerous in the hands of bad people, civilians should be allowed to continue owning guns because the ban of guns would break the constitution, civilians that own guns save lives, and guns are not at fault for shootings. Gun supporters argue they should be allowed to continue owning guns because the ban of guns would break the constitution. According to the second amendment any man or woman has the right to bear arms for protection. If we were to ban guns and take them away from civilians it would be illegal according to this. It would also be unfair to take guns away from those that use the properly for recreational or hunting purposes. The total average of death rates when stopped by a civilian is 2.2 whereas when stopped by the police it is 18.25. Civilians with guns save nearly 16 more people than the police. Another gun use pole showed that only 19% of gun use was for a violent crime committed by offenders while 81% of gun use was a defensive use. These people are saving their own or others’ lives by the legal use of their guns. 60% of all deaths involving deaths are suicides, although this s a serious matter these deaths should not be used in the debate of guns laws because if a person truly wants to kill him or herself and guns were banned then they would just do it another way.
