If a spoon doesn’t make people fat and cars don’t wreck themselves. Then why do we blame guns for killing people. It has been a big controversy for the last couple of years whether we should make gun control laws stricter or not. Should they ban clips with more than 15 rounds? Should they change the open carry law? Do gun salesmans need to be stricter on the sales of guns? People need to realize that guns are not the problem and banning them isn’t going to stop criminals from getting them illegally. Changing the gun laws will only make it harder for the “good guys” to get guns. With the process to obtain a firearm being harder, crime could actually increase far heavier than it is now.

This is how most people feel about guns. Everybody is comfortable with something as long as they are in control. This goes for more than just guns. Everybody likes to be in control and needs to realize freak accidents happen and that not everybody is a lunatic or a terrorist that wants to kill everybody. People have hobbies and some people’s hobbies are collecting and shooting guns. Not everybody feels the same about gun control but the ones who take a stand are usually against people having guns. P. G. Wodehouse said, “The fascination of shooting as a sport depends wholly on whether you are at the right or wrong end of the gun.” People do not kill for fun most of the time. Every now and then you will get that lunatic who thinks killing is a game, but most people kill out of fear or hatred. People are more worried about taking gun rights from law abiding citizens than finding the real solution to the problem or even figuring out the real problem. People are so worried about winning an argument for their party or changing a small rule thinking it will help everybody. Taking guns from people like me isn’t going to help anything but get more people hurt and killed. Gangs already break laws that we have. Why would they follow the new ones.
