Once the government starts putting restrictions on certain type of assault rifle or the amount of rounds for your weapons, its possible they wont stop there, and there’s no telling what else they may want restrict. Some believe the government wont just restrict the type of arm you carry, but also take away free speech, and freedom of religion. The Second Amendment of the United States Constitution reads "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." Many believe the amendment is intended for ordinary home defense, but I believe that is not the case. The second amendment intent is protecting and guarantee that the nation will never be overcome by any military power, foreign or domestic. A good example of where civilians result in them having to protect themselves is given by listverse, “If the five branches of the US military were beaten by, say, a nuclear holocaust, the only national defense left would be the civilians themselves. I will continue to show my support against gun control, because there are just too many facts and statistics that show it does not work, it didn’t work for countries like Mexico and big cities like Chicago where death by gun continues to be higher than ever. Not only will it not work, it will also not make it any harder for criminals to get the weapon they require, since there will always be a way for them to get their hands on them, whether from out of state or out the country or even from a friend or family member.
