Did you know that most of the homicides convicted in the US are from guns? Research has shown that 70% of the time murder victims die from guns than other weapons. In the year of 2018, there has been more mass shootings in schools than ever before, and hundreds of innocent people are dying. Some say it is our right to keep guns for protection, but they don’t realize how criminals can obtain rifles in their hands legally and without a problem. In addition, for people who follow the laws can have a handgun, but the U.S. government should have stricter laws and inspections done on people (especially with a criminal record) if they want to buy a gun. If we stop the criminals from their hands on guns, we could save innocent people’s lives from getting killed. Even though the second amendment gives everyone in the U.S. the right to bear arms, the U.S. government should consider stricter laws on the use of guns to the common people.

The Selma to Montgomery march was an effort to register black voters in the south, since poll taxes and literacy tests restricted African Americans right to vote. It got a lot of fame since Martin Luther King Jr. led the march. Protected by federal troops, people who marched were still encountered by white mobs. Therefore, after this the U.S. Congress passed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to give equal voting rights to African Americans. I could use this type of protest to raise fame in the country with the help of supporters. This march will work like Selma to Montgomery, because the NRA and the US congress are capable of making stricter laws effect on today’s society.
