I used this article because I needed statistics in order to prove my point that guns are one of the main cause of death. It gave information on how to handle gun violence and what needs to be done to reduce the amount of deaths. It was helpful because of the numbers it gave on the amount of deaths in a certain period of time.

This week we were confronted with yet one more horrifying crime as we heard of another incident where an older white male, with reported mental issues, shot up theater patrons as they watched the premier of a new release. The first reaction of Pro-gun control proponents was to call for a ban on guns and to eliminate gun ownership by the public. I believe eliminating gun ownership to the public will not prevent criminal violence or mass murder. If we take a look at the individuals committing violent crimes, we find that criminals and the mentally unstable are the major contributors to these offenses.…

The fact of violent crimes in the U.S. Is not often contested and everyone would agree we should work to lower these numbers. One hotly debated method for doing this is though controlling access to firearms. Many believe limiting access to firearms through gun control reduces violent gun crime by making guns harder to get a hold of them. Suggested methods for doing this include weapon specific bans, increased background check laws, licensing and registrations laws, and increased enforcement of federal firearms license (FFL) regulations. In many of the arguments for decreasing access the conversation is personalized and emotionalized by including specific victims and how the violent actor should not have been permitted to possess a firearm.…

In the discussion of gun control, one controversial issue is that it wouldn’t do anything, because people will find a way to get a gun. On the other hand however it would keep all of the useless killings to a minimum, my view is that tighter regulations would stop senseless killings and untimely deaths. More than 30,000 people are killed by firearms each year in this country. Only because people are not checking backgrounds when they sale firearms, they only care about making that particular sale to increase their overall revenue. No one with a mental illness, criminal background, etc.…

In this paper, I will argue that no one should be allowed to purchase a gun. There will be a lot of people that would oppose this decision because the second amendment gives them the right to bear arms. However, there shouldn’t be any amendment that puts other people’s lives at risk. Some people might even argue that strict background check might be able to lower the crime rate caused by guns. However, this cannot halt crimes in this country.…
