The right of individuals to own and keep guns has created controversial arguments for quite some time. Notably, different countries have used several approaches when it comes to the right of individuals to own weapons. A section of the politicians in the state argue that ownership of guns is considered a crime if one uses licensed firearms for criminal activities. Notably, they affirm that citizens should be allowed to own guns so that they can be able to protect themselves against criminals who might jeopardize their security. There are those who argue that having laws that allow people to own guns could increase violence among people and lead to unwarranted deaths. In such cases people could see guns as the only alternative that they can use to achieve justice. In order for this to be effective, activists argue that there is a need for improved laws that regulate how guns should be used in order to ensure peace and harmony to be restored in the United States. According to activists who fight for gun rights, the number of violent crimes has decreased since citizens were allowed to carry guns. The National Rifle Association of America (NRA) indicates that there is a decrease in murder cases since 2010 from 52% to 47% when the rights to own a gun were introduced.
