Bang, Bang There are many different opinions on guns. Some people believe that we should take away all guns and other people believe that everyone should have the ability to gain a gun. Gun laws do not affect the criminals that it was intended for. In America the Constitution states “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed” (James Madison). This gives every American Citizen the right to keep a gun. Recently there has been an attempt to make it harder to gain a gun. They are trying to take away all of the guns that people have and trying to make it harder to get any guns. In America it is a law to register any firearm, however only law abiding citizens register their guns. Criminals try to avoid detection by not registering any firearms that they are in possession of. Laws are meant to affect everyone, however only law abiding citizens follow these laws. Gun control is by definition “regulation of the selling, owning, and use of guns” (www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/gun%20control). These laws are trying to slow and regulate the ability that an American citizen has to own and sell guns. With the addition of more gun laws the second amendment is being infringed upon by making it harder for a law abiding citizen to keep and bear arms.
