Have you ever wonder why, if you drop a gummy bear in water, why does it grow? Well here you will find the answer to that. First of all gummy bears are made up of a sugary solution that has gelatin in it which holds solutions together to make gummy candy and the gelatin needs water to hold the solution together and the companies that make the gummy have to extract the water so the gummies can get denser and get smaller so that is why later when you put water in the gummy bear or any other candy it will expand. This experiment is sometimes called osmosis, osmosis is when something swells up to several times it size. Also when a gummy bear is grown in water it will become way less dense, the density is how there is more weight to a smaller
