This was done by having PTC tasters and non-tasters sample acetaminophen and determine whether it was bitter or had no flavor. The sample collected had only one case of a PTC non-taster having the ability to taste acetaminophen. Here, we tested the quality of three different paper towel brands, Viva, Up&Up, and Bounty. Each lab group was testing for a certain quality of each brand, such as strength and absorbency. Each of the participants in the Bubble Gum “A real sugar high” lab were to instructed to bring several types of gum. On the day of the lab, step one required all participants were to measure the gum’s mass along with it’s wrapper (Bubble Gum “A Real Sugar High”, n.a.). The second step instructed each participator to chew the without swallowing and have no product to the mass. Our hypothesis was supported because the brand claiming to be sugar free had the lowest rate of decomposition. Double Bubble brand gum had the highest starting amount of sugar and therefore lost the greatest amount of mass. Super Bubble lost a relatively similar amount of mass compared to the Double Bubble brand. Both brands on average lost over half of their mass after three minutes. Gum!! I would have to say that gum is the single most awesome invention in the world. I say this mainly because I would have never thought that something could be made to where it was edible; that could start as a solid piece of perfection, and then gradually transform its self into a stretchy, balloon blowing, way too much fun to play with when you are done piece of gum.
