Guitar Research Paper

Emotions are a very difficult thing to convey using words. Simply telling someone how we feel never seem encapsulate the cacophony of different emotions that are coursing through our bodies. This is why we have created a more effective way of sharing our feelings with others: art. The sound of an orchestra as it begins to swell, or the sound of a singer's voice as she reaches the climax of her song give us more insight into their hearts than any number of words ever could. Unfortunately, art is stressed less and less at schools, which means that we must make up for this deficit as a community. When I was in the third grade, I went to a music camp hosted Kiwanis. Each year i would have 3 different classes of about twenty students ranging from beginner to intermediate. Guitar is very hard instrument to play at first, since both hands must move in unison in order to produce a single note. The legends, such as B.B King or Andres Segovia, are able to effortlessly string together each note, as if the guitar is just an extension of their body. However, when a beginner plays for the first time, they often struggle to play even a single note, and often times, they quit. This is why it is vital for a young child to have a teacher when they first learn. I am able to walk around to each student and give them tips that will help them get a better sound out of their instruments. Since I have gone through the same struggles, at the same summer camp, I am able to very effectively motivate them to keep practicing even though it may seem frustrating.
