The very first electronic amplifiers were made for guitars and the first guitar amplifier didn’t appear until the 1930’s, when an amplifier for the Hawaiian steel guitar was developed. Most people believe the first guitar amp was a fender, however some research suggests it was a ford, made when an electrolytic capacitor tube was made with a built in power supply that was now able to be plugged into walls. These amplifiers had terrible bass and treble and the only controls allowed for treble boost and were usually under 15watts.
