Knowing that having the title of head lifeguard comes with additional responsibility and dedication on top of regular lifeguard duties, I believe that I am more than qualified not only with my skills as a regular lifeguard, but my ability to be a leader, communicate with others, and have a strong sense of responsibility. Not only would I utilize my strengths to be a responsible and dedicated head lifeguard, but I would also strive to set an example for others, which I believe to be one of the most important factors of being an effective leader as a head lifeguard.

A common way I have noticed to communicate with each other during lifeguard duties is the usage of the whiteboard to keep up-to-date with individual responsibilities. By implementing the utilization of the whiteboard, I will effectively communicate with fellow lifeguards and delegate various tasks throughout the day. More importantly, communication between the patrons and me will be taken into serious consideration. If a patron is having a problem, as an open and understanding person, I will make sure to hear them out and then help them to the best of my ability.
