Transnationalism and identity are key factors in defining a person's beliefs and practices. However, the children of immigrants have a hard time maintaining their culture because once they step in America, they are required to adapt to the American Culture if they want to succeed in U.S. This idea is cruel as well as discriminating the culture of the immigrants. I have read two articles that talks about this type of situations that immigrants go through when they arrive in U.S. The two articles that I’m referring to are called, “ Expression of Maya Identity and Culture in Los Angeles,” by Giovanni Batz and “ Alla en Guatemala,” by Lucila D. Ek.…

Talk about their salsa , the way it is seasoned makes the salsa just so wonderful to eat with their freshly made tortilla chips They have served at the table when you're seated. The detail they put into the restaurant is marvelous , first you have the wax tiled flooring , then you have the paintings of the mayan's all over the place , the tables are spaced out just right, There's a TV on the wall as well , and where you pay your bill the table is decorated with pennies and quarters spelling out ' WELCOME' . Personally I love the way they have their paintings of the mayan's on the walls above the booths , I mean that is what Mexican's are. One of the biggest themes in Mexico City that is seen when analyzing corruption is the large differences between the rich and poor. The rich will commit crime against the poor just as the poor will do to the rich. Just like jimbo.com (2010) says "[c]rime can be seen every single day in Mexico City, between from poor to rich and vice versa, and yes, I said rich to poor. In the latter cases, crimes take the form of company owners exploiting their employees, in terms of excessive work hours and low salary. Still, many people don’t complain because, they really need the job to feed their families" (jimbo, 2010).…

The authentic Mexican restaurants are different from American restaurants even though they have some similarities. An example of a product used is the music in the background you listen to when you are eating your meal. The music at the restaurants are usually based on the culture of the restaurant. It is playing the music so you get exposed to the culture while you eat that culture’s cuisine. An example is if you were going to a Mexican restaurant you will hear Mexican music but if you got to an American restaurant you will hear American music.…
