Growing up with a twin is like not growing up at all, for me being with my best friend even before birth has been the greatest birthday gift there could ever be. Being near such an amazing person throughout my whole life has given me precious memories that I keep and remember every day. One of the most important things I have always kept in my heart is memories, because even though you are growing up on the outside your heart can remain the same as long as you don’t forget.
I believe life is not a competition with others, is a competition with ourselves. There may be someone better, someone more experienced. But every day I can be a better me than before, until I am satisfied and I am truly convinced I´m the best I can be. While I was growing up I was always associated with my twin sister. But I wanted to be individual, my own self and that’s when I started looking for something that made me different, not only from my sister but from everyone around me. I realized that my whole life I´ve had desperation to create, whether it would be painting, baking, crafts, jewelry, stories or poems. I started working more and more on creating until I became skilled. I have helped build houses with Habitat for Humanity, I have visited the poorest homes in the surrounding of Mexico City during a one month missions, I´ve been the leader of a group of girls that I helped and trained in the arts of becoming an integral member of society, I have helped as a translator to doctors who have come to El Salvador to help the needy. In short, I have used my life not just to better myself but also to help the people around
