My Goals To Growing Up With Adhd

While Struggling with a learning disability such as ADHD, the feeling of discouragement and illiteracy negatively impacted my academics as a child. I have faced several obstacles growing up with ADHD, but I realized that adhd is not a “disability”, it’s the ability to process knowledge at my own pace. That self-confidence is what gave me the encouragement and drive to seek a higher level of education and meet all my life goals.

When I was a child and others would ask, “What do you want to be when you grow up”, my answer had always remained the same. I 've always been determined to be a nurse, nursing assistant, or work somewhere in the medical field. Although High school was a bit of a struggle for me in the learning and comprehension areas I still had the perseverance to achieve that young child’s life long goal. The wellbeing and care for others has always been one of my positive characteristics. I believe I possess these traits because of my sister and my mother. I have always dreamt of attending college and just being able to say I am a college student. Unfortunately I was never able to. The reason why I have not been able to pursue my goal to attend college is because of my full time career and assisting my sister with her daily needs. Both of those responsibilities did not allow me to physically attend classes at a university. It is hard to find a learning facility and classes that work with you and your busy schedule. This put my further development of education to a halt. Empire state college will give me the ability to work fulltime with the flexibility in continuing to reach my life goal in seeking a higher level of education. The online learning program and all of the resources Empire state college provides, I will have the opportunity to advance my career and continue to carry on my
