All people get taller as they get older even the shortest man in the world who is only a mere 21 inches tall, that's not bigger than my dog (miniature schnauzer) or two of my shoes together. But, even he grew maybe not a lot, but he grew. We human grow some faster and some slower than each other, and I am a very tall kid for my age. For this reason, I want to know how I achieved my height. Since I was a newborn, I was a big baby, and my baby stats are 8.1 pounds, length 21.5 inches, head circumference 16.5 inches. According to my research on www.babycenter.com my height = above percentile 95, my weight = between percentile 50 and 75, (tall and skinny like I am now), head circumference = above percentile 95. My Dad told me that at the age of oneMy percentile increased to 150%. The doctor said I could be 7 feet tall if I continued growing like that rate. Well, don’t get too excited because now I will summarize the drawbacks of being tall. First, when driving a car, but for me, that is go-kart at Mulligans, your knees touch the steering wheel, and that is uncomfortable. Second, you can’t play in the park as a shorter person is able. For example, when you are playing tag and running in small spaces, or structures, like a slide, or under a bridge, you have to be careful not to hit your head. Third, everyone assumes you play a sport like a basketball or a volleyball player. I like those sports, but what if I want to be a baseball

In a study performed on prepubescent Japanese children with multiple forms of stature related disorders, those with ACH showed a significant height improvement of 3.9 inches on average of growth while on growth hormone therapy (Kanazawa et al., 2003). However, furthers studies show that the initial dose of hormones shows a significant amount of growth which then decelerates over time until the hormones are no longer effective. The results are even less profound when tested on adults who have already completed puberty. Another treatment used to help increase stature in those with ACH is limb lengthening which can produce a height increase of 12-14 inches. Limb lengthening, although rare within the United States, is generally spread out into multiple procedures and includes operations on both the tibias and the femurs; it is performed by first cutting the bone and placing metal screws or pins through the skin and into the bone, a metal device is attached to the pins in the bone which is then used to slowly pull the bone apart at the growth plates which facilitates growth.…

The process of estimating a persons stature from a skeletal remains has a long history in physical anthropology. The correlation between a persons height and the length of their bones, throughout all ages allows the osteologist a better frame from which they can reconstruct an individuals stature, with the use of different skeletal elements. The use of body collections such as the Hamann and Todd collection that house around 2,600 skeletal remains of individual, who died in the 1900’s are helpful as comparisons(White et al 2005).An individuals height and stature is a great piece of information of identification within a forensic investigation, however in order to obtain a persons stature you must first determine their race, sex and age as an individuals stature will vary dependant on these variables. Stature estimations are not exact and must be expressed with a range of error as many aspects of an individual may cause a difference in stature (Garwin 2006)…
