Growing up, I remember for the most part it was just me and my dad. My mom was not able to find a job in the US with her degree from India so she decided to go to school again. She studied at a university about 5 hours away from where we lived and so my dad and I lived in an apartment while my mom would travel every weekend or so to visit us. She somehow made it work. She was able to balance school and her education every week. She could have stayed at home and gave up because it was too hard but she persisted. She taught me and my sister that the only thing we as humans have is knowledge and to fight for our education.
