While rummaging through a drawer in search of an old photograph, I came across a picture of a teenage girl. Dressed in her navy and gold pep club uniform, she had positioned her pom poms so that they covered each hip. Her golden- blond hair swirled past her shoulders and as my eyes traveled downward I was shocked to see she had missing body parts--someone had taken a pair of scissors and cut her legs completely off.
