My family also supported and encouraged me to do some things that I typically did not do but wanted to. No matter what activity was, my family helped me get whatever I needed and also supported me by showing up at various performances and events. Though this act may seem minuscule, it meant a lot to know that I had people who were proud of me and would always love me no matter if I succeeded or failed. Altogether, I know that without the support of my friends and family, I would not be the person that I am…

In the Journal of Family Psychology, the authors stated “Overall, findings reveal that positive aspects of the quality of relationships or support among family members have concurrent, short-, and long-term linkages to psychological adjustment and well-being (Fuller-Iglesias, Webster, & Antonucci, 2015; Mallers, Charles, Neupert & Almeida, 2010, para. 3). Consequently, this shows that if they were to have a family of their own there might be difficulties to create a strong family foundation. I was always fond of the color orange. It is the fur color of the lovable, bouncy Tigger that enjoyed the company of his friends. There were times where his friends were annoyed by his overly energetic self, but I realized that his optimistic character has helped me to admire the color orange, even today. I also realized that the characters’ houses aligned with the characters themselves. Christopher Robin, the boy from Winnie the Pooh, lived in a tree at the top of the hill in the center of the forest, being the center of his imagination.…

In Unequal Childhoods, Lareau explains how families social class and race lead to them having different parenting styles, which lead to the families having different interactions with other adults, siblings, educators, and medical officials. I agree with Lareau 's case about the parenting styles have an impact on how families and children interact with larger society. Lareau 's argument on how parenting and childhood vary by social class is strong because she explores many different families from different social classes and races. Lareau observed from two elementary schools and interviewed with 88…

The environment sets the tone for what to expect, as well as dictates what can and can not be done (usually dealing with space and set up). The setting of the environment goes beyond the physical set up, the relationship and attitude of the caregivers can also heavily impact social and emotional development of infants. A reliable nuturing relationship involves respect, continuous interaction with the infants, paying close attention to what the children are doing in order to what to avoid conflict, accepting verbal and nonverbal communication and building on it to…

In the Declaration of Independence which notified the British government of the separation of their power the famous phrase “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness” began this idea of the American Dream. But some have found this phrase not to be true, working with a refugee I found their interpretation of this idea fascinating. Death of socialization There is a common saying that children do have the right to socialize, but the most important question is do they actually get that opportunity? Well, I was beaten and denied of my childhood socialization. I was about ten (10) years old when my social isolation began. There were many rules and regulations implemented in my father 's house, most of them were targeting my freedom of socialization, but the most outstanding one was "Don’t socialize with other people, especially boys. " I often wondered why my dad would come up with such a ridiculous rule, because I was raised in an environment where men rule and reign, to worsen the situation my family was full of boys.…

The point where I realized I was no longer a kid, was when my mother made me pay for everything I desired. Until that moment, I thought I would always have support from my mother, she got me everything I asked for, especially when I most deserved it. As I got older, asking for things had become more difficult. I realized that I was expected to work hard for what I want, not have it handed to me. It was time for me to do things on my own, and though I knew it would be difficult, I also knew it would help me in the long run.…
