Life got difficult for him in December 1979 when the Russians invaded his home country and it was way too dangerous for him to stay. He was only four years old he didn't really understand how difficult it was for him to survive there. His parents decided to move out of the country so they went to a refugee camp in Pakistan. In the camp they were safe but it wasn't much of a struggle because life back in Afghanistan was already hard coming from a poor family. He stayed at the camp for 15 years, grew up there and also studied at the camp. He would have times when he had to go and collect supplies for his family, he said “I would walk several kilometres in the hot sun just to get grass from the desert at least twice a week at the age of ten.” They would use the grass for a source of fire and then cook bread on the fire. …show more content…
In just 8 years the conditions in Afghanistan became very dangerous again because the Taliban came into Afghanistan. See what I mean about him having a rough childhood? You probably understand by now that he had to move around a lot because of the dangerous
