During my time at Cal Baptist, I hope to gain not only the knowledge I will need for my career, but lasting friendships and spiritual tools that will help me as I continue my life journey on my own. My expectation for college is that, although learning is important, I will have opportunities to build lasting friendships and strengthen my faith in God and confidence in myself as well as my academic abilities. I believe Cal Baptist has developed a close, supportive community which I can count on to help me fulfill my goals for my college experience. A clear goal of mine is to excel academically, and in a small college like Cal Baptist, where I may receive one-on-one help from professors, I hope to do just that.…
“Our enemies have made the mistake that America’s enemies always make. They saw liberty and thought they saw weakness. And now, they see defeat.” George W. Bush stated this about the cowardly September 11th attacks. During that fateful day I was glued to my poorly constructed high school chair, gazing in disbelief what was unfolding on Mr. Cox’s History class television.…
I see the world in a way completely different than those around me do. I want to be light in this dark world. I desire to attend a college that will encourage me to grow closer to God and will help me to find and follow His will. I believe we were created to glorify God with our lives, but I need all the help I can get to become a Christ-centered woman. I am looking for a college where I can grow spiritually and where I can learn, not just academics, but learn about God and life.…
After graduation, I am going to Central Christian College of the Bible in Missouri. I want to go to this college because they offer the help I need to reach my goals which is to become a pastor. After College, I will come…
There are many reasons why I want to get my degree from Colorado Christian University. One of the most important reasons for me came on August nineteenth two-thousand fifteen at eight thirty-seven pm, a blessing was brought into my life. That blessing that God gave me was my little baby girl named Emery Sue Schmidt. At that moment I decided that I needed to be a good role model for my daughter. I realized one of the best ways is to get enrolled in college and start taking classes.…
Without Jesus, we are nothing. Jesus himself said in the bible that he is the vine and we are the branches. If we remain with him, we will bear fruits, but without him, we will not. While attending university, many Christians derail from their faith because of the temptations they face. Alcohol, drugs, and new philosophies surround them within their college campuses.…

Prayer is acceptable in reprove so extensive as the speaker is private, such as a studier. This myth has rising from a error of the settlement clause. GCU’s Christian heritage makes the GCU academic experience different than the experience at a non-faith-based university because Christian principles are integrated across everything. This helps to shape personal perspectives in a positive and healthy way. I have attended a non-faith-based university and although I received a superior academic education I felt that my education was somehow incomplete. At GCU there is an emphasis to enrich spiritual life which I find completes the academic experience. With access to spiritual leadership I feel that my education is more personal.…

Most people grow up religious, knowing who or what they believe in. Others grow up with no religion at all and only believe in what they see or experience on a daily basis. Growing up without a set religion can confuse a person quite a bit. There are many questions that are left unanswered. People grow up without religion for many different reasons, some being that they do not have transportation to a church, or that they do not live somewhere that has a church nearby, or maybe that they are just not interested in being religious at all.…
1) Growing up in a Christian-centered part of the country I’ve been exposed to many of the traditions and the beliefs that go along with it. I’ve seen the good that can come out of it and I’ve seen the completely bigoted and ignorant bad side of it. But with all the different aspects of Christianity one thing that seems to be the most important is the thought of Afterlife; be it Heaven or Hell.…
The question of a student’s expression of religion either by prayer or an assignment in a public school classroom creates a labyrinth of debate. Addressing this issue is like entering into Pandora’s Box, only to find Medusa there. The question is whose God or gods will help us resolve the dilemma of personal rights verses offenses. Will it perhaps be Zeus, Athena, or Perseus?…
One major value I have relating to my choice of going to CSU Stanislaus was my value for higher education. I understand many people around the world are capable people of getting a higher education, but just because of where they live they will never be able to achieve a higher education. Since I understand this I think it would be ashame if I didn’t go to college when so many others would fight for a chance at it. As for familial values I grew up in a diversity family both from an economic level and a ethic level. I understand members of my family felt they didn’t have a chance at college in the past due to their economic status or ethnicities.…
Over my high school’s spring break, I went on a mission trip through my church with my family to Jamaica. When there, I had multiple situations where I had some misunderstanding in communication, most commonly when speaking with the native Jamaicans. On our second day there, my church group had planned out Vacation Bible School sessions for the kids in Jamaica. I was talking to one of the boys there, who was around the age of 13. We were sitting at one of the tables and some of his friends were around too, chiming in and adding comments.…
