Scarlett sighed against her chair and willed herself to disappear. “Why can’t I stay here?” she mumbled.
“You haven’t been home in almost five days now. You need to go and see your dad and make sure that he knows that you’re alive,” he grudgingly said.
“I might not be after I see him,” Scarlett mumbled under her breath, sarcastically.

“I don’t care what Renee said. If you don’t even know what you did, then she was just probably in a bad mood. We aren’t going to tell on you Scar,” Seamus assured her. He ran up the stairs to his room to change into his bathing suit.
Scarlett followed him up the stairs with Charlie on her heels. She shut the door behind her and locked it. Scarlett smiled to herself. She sprinted from the chair to Charlie and jumped onto his back with such force that he tipped into the water with her still on his back. She screamed as the cold water touched her skin.
Charlie whirled around mid-air and grabbed her waist as they fell into the water. He let himself sink with her in his arms until she started to struggle against him. He kept his arms firmly around her waist as he pushed off the bottom of the pool and emerged.
They were both gasping for air, but he still didn’t let her go until she met his eyes with a red face. He shot her a boyish smile that made her smile back instantly.
Charlie’s face leaned towards Scarlett. She was ready for him to kiss her, but he veered off and whispered in her ear.
“I’m too much trouble for you to deal with. Trust me,” he
