Group Work Self Analysis

I was definitely not the best partner to work with this week as I was on vacation until Saturday morning and had little time on my computer. However, Yoselin was super understanding and we used text messaging to have the most efficient conversations about our project.
As for group work, I am usually against the idea because I tend to be an introvert who wants to have all the control of what is being submitted. It is sometimes difficult for members of a group to have equal responsibilities. However, working as a member of a team is essential in healthcare. Being able to divide the work and collaborate with peers can be crucial when administering patient care. Over my past two years at Stockton, I have acquired skills that make me more prepared

As a collaborator, my strengths were that I made sure that everything got done on time and that it was done right. My weaknesses were that I didn’t really talk to my group as much as I should have and I kind of didn’t put responsibility on anyone but myself. Group work requires talking to others, otherwise you’ll just pull all of the weight and the other group members will get a free ride. Honestly, I feel comfortable controlling the whole process of group work and have people just follow what I say so I know that things are getting done right. This is probably not good, but I don’t feel like I can trust groups because a lot of the time people don’t do what they’re supposed to.…

I got the opportunity to do my internship at Houston Methodist West Hospital. I have been working for Methodist for the past 4 years in our registration department and out of those four years, I have had the opportunity to work with 3 different management teams. Although, each of my management teams delivered different methods on how to properly register a patient under 7 min or less, our goal we have always strived for was keeping our patient satisfaction scores at a high. Our organization implemented a strategy called AIDET, (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explain, and Thank you) to make this process work effectively. As our patient were very impressed with our ICARE values, (Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence)…

My past experiences working in groups through Liberty University and through other schools has been positive to a certain extent, but group projects always add a certain amount of stress. There are a few groups that have been fantastic and a few groups which have had lagging group members which make it difficult. I would say that my personality type is extremely laid back, but I also like for things to get done because, at this level, good grades are essential. A few annoyances that I have discovered while working in groups is when individuals place blame on others specifically.…

If I were a high school teacher planning a group work assignment, I would assign random grouping to maximize student achievement. Although students that compose the groups are randomly selected, I will allow some tweaking to ensure that my fast learners are distributed in all groups. This will ensure that slow learners are equally helped when needed. My idea can be best described as heterogeneous grouping, not homogenous, grouping if my purpose is to maximize student achievement, both academically and socially. If my goals are acceleration and extensive intervention, then I would use homogenous grouping by ability.…

This essay will detail a critical reflection of three key learning experiences that I encountered during my team observed structured professional encounter (TOSPE). Originally designed by Harden and Gleeson (1979), TOSPE allows students to work collaboratively as a multi-disciplinary team and develop a care plan specific to case studies. Throughout the essay, I will be using Gibb’s (1988) reflective model (appendix?) - allowing me to examine my performance through my own and other team-member’s perspectives. I will be paying particular attention upon psychosocial factors, cultural awareness, human factors and team-working of my group. Finally, I will outline the importance of effective team-working, personal critical reflection and their roles…

The book Group Process and Practice, the discussions, and research materials have let see the different process for the groups of different ages. Each group is unique, hence it is important to be able to know the needs of each different group population. According to Corey, Corey, and Corey (2010), “a sample of programs can give you ideas to apply in creating a group that is suitable for your personal style, your clients, and the setting in which you work” (p. 285). Since I was able to get some ideas on how the different groups are set up and how they work, I was able to know that I will be more interest in working with children.…

Group polarisation and groupthink in society Introduction Group polarization (from the Latin. polarisatia - shift to the edge, the offset to the pole) - socio-psychological phenomenon that occurs as a result of group discussions during which diverse opinions and positions of the participants are not smoothed, and executed by the end of the discussion in two diametrically opposite positions, excluding any compromises. Also, under group polarization we understand the aggravation of extreme group decisions or judgments compared with normal decisions or judgments during a discussion. The term "group polarization" was introduced by S. Moscovici (1969). How could group polarization lead to poor decision-making in organizations?…

For me, it’s not easy working with others because I like to take ownership of my work. It was a great experience to see the importance of the synergies that were created, as effective division of work and proper communication made a very big project manageable. Also, completely reading the instructions is an important lesson the we learned and can take anywhere. While we were confident about our material in the presentation, we didn’t follow the guidelines well, which hurt us. Trust is a huge part about working in groups, and I gained this trust through interaction with my team members, as well as success early on in the project.…

In fact, my group members were very helpful and whenever one of us had trouble with something we would all participate in solving her problem or giving her helpful tips to solve it. By helping, supporting and motivating each other it made the project easier to solve and it helped us in achieving our work in the most effective time and ways. Here are some points I loved about the experience, firstly being a part of a group helped in developing my skills and we were able to achieve more work than in working individually. Secondly, we had more time to manage and plan. Thirdly I developed more communicating skills and team commitment and also I had more exchange of information between myself and our group members.…
