Group Project Research Paper

These days middle schoolers get bombarded with school work whether that be homework, essays, packets, or group projects. Students spend a lot of their time working on their school work. School work can become stressful for some students, especially if they have to work in groups for projects. I believe that group projects are not a good idea. Group projects can easily lead to disagreements between members, distractions, and scheduling that is overly complicated. Therefore, I believe that teachers should not give students group projects. To begin with, disagreements between members in the same group is not very good. Disagreements between who is doing what part and how the project should be done only makes the group project take longer than it should. If the members cannot agree on a plan for the project it could lead to arguments that make it difficult to work on the project. If the group projects is large members may have to meet with each other outside of school. Members in a group project together do not live the same life, they have different plans at different times. It is hard to find a day and time that everyone in the group is available. If members of a group can decide on a day and time sometimes they do not have a place accessible to work on their project. Maybe a member would not be able to have someone take them to the place where they are supposed to work on their group project. Scheduling is something that is very difficult to do with a group for a group project. If the group cannot agree on a time and place, the group’s project may not be completed in time. Some may say that they enjoy group projects, it is less stress put on an individual. But I say that group projects give some individuals more stress because they have to worry about what their partners are doing, not just what they are
