Groupthink and group polarization are both influential to a person when having to make a decision and influential in affecting a persons thinking. “Groupthink is the modification of the opinions of members of a group to align with what they believe is the group consensus” (PSY101-11.4). This can be a behavior that a person exhibits in a group that does not necessarily match how they feel about the situation or a particular thing. For example, a person in a group may be influenced to think that all pit-bull dogs are bad dogs if they are discussing dogs with a group of people that dislike pit bulls. Even though he or she may have no experience with that particular breed of dog, the group has influenced the way he or she feels about pit-bull
